We gave this front entrance a complete overhaul, replacing the old, tired concrete slabs and brick steps with a modern, high-end porcelain finish.
What We Did
Mitred Porcelain Steps: We built the new entrance steps using a mitred edge technique. This means the porcelain joins at a 45-degree angle on the corners, hiding the raw edges of the tiles for a much cleaner, more solid look.
Extended Front Patio: We expanded the original footprint of the path to create a larger, more open front patio area that wraps around the entrance.
Raised Left-Hand Section: We built up a raised porcelain platform to the left of the door, creating a level area that’s perfect for planters and gives the front of the house more character.
Decorative Gravel Border: The new slabs are bordered by dark grey granite chippings, which provides a nice contrast against the light porcelain and helps with drainage around the base of the house.
